Charlotte, N.C. (August 16, 2017) – McKibbon Hospitality announced today that it has hired Don Lockhart as general manager for the AC Hotel Charlotte City Center and Maxine Elleby as market director of sales for the AC Hotel and Residence Inn Charlotte City Center. The 22-story, dual-branded hotel tower is currently under construction at the EpiCentre in Uptown and is expected to open in early 2018.Together, the two hotels will add 300 rooms to Charlotte’s hotel inventory. The project will also include an independent rooftop bar, a super suite available for rent, meeting space, and retail space for lease.

McKibbon Hospitality is working with Charlotte-based developer Vision Ventures on the AC Hotel and Residence Inn Charlotte City Center as well as general contractor Cleveland Construction and interior designer Winford Lindsay Architects. The AC Hotel will boast 184 rooms on levels 5-12 of the tower and be considered a lifestyle hotel, offering a unique food and beverage selection and local artwork. The Residence Inn will include 116 extended-stay suites on levels 14-21 of the tower.

The independent rooftop bar will be located on the twenty-second floor of the building with outstanding views of Charlotte and will be open to the public.McKibbon Hospitality is partnering with Peter Pollay of Mandara Hospitality, who will serve as the consulting chef for the rooftop bar. Pollay resides in Asheville, NC and owns Posana restaurant. He is also consulting with McKibbon on a new rooftop bar and tapas concept, Capella on 9, at the AC Hotel Asheville Downtown. Located adjacent to the rooftop bar, a super suite will be available for rent through McKibbon Hospitality. It will include 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, 1,350 square feet, high-end finishes and décor, and controlled access through a private entrance.
